VATICAN: THE DEFINITION OF MARRIAGE CANNOT BE CHANGED

Mar 15, 2021

In a statement issued this afternoon, the Vatican’s doctrinal body, together with the Pope himself, affirms that marriage is only between one man and one woman.

The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith said that the Roman Catholic Church does not even possess the power to change the definition of marriage since it is rooted in God’s design of creation.

This statement, along with the press commentary, also affirms Roman Catholic teaching that sexual activity is only right within the confines of marriage.

This move is timely, particularly given the increasing calls for churches to be effectively banned from preaching about marriage. Some campaigners say a ban on ‘conversion therapy’ should also ban prayer and preaching which contradicts LGBT theology.

C4M stands with those of all faiths and none who support the true definition of marriage as between one man and one woman.
