118 Tory MPs will defy PM over redefining marriage

Nov 24, 2012

There is a massive Tory rebellion over the Prime Minister’s plans to redefine marriage, with 118 MPs so far having publicly stated their opposition to the unpopular plan. The Daily Mail leads with the story today.

Meanwhile, the Daily Telegraph reports that the public want a referendum on the matter. They don’t think it should be decided by politicians.

If there was to be such a referendum, polls show that the public would vote decisively to keep marriage as it is, which just shows that this policy should be dropped.
